CAMP POPULATION
|
Camp Cadicasu is a full service summer home to 1000 kids aged 8 – 17. Our staff consists of 36 counselors, program staff, kitchen, maintenance and medical staff on a 24/7 basis. The ratio of camper to counselor is approximately 8 to 1. The young campers will have a counselor sleep in the same area with the campers so they will be fully supervised night and day

How are campers broken up by age & gender?
Juniors, aged 8-10
- Camp Cadicasu is a special place for our youngest camper. For many it will be their first time away from home, so great care is given to providing a supportive and structured experience. The Staff are specially selected and trained for their experience and interest in younger children. These campers will spend fully supervised action packed days swimming, paddling, hiking, cook outs, visiting the arts and crafts center and exploring the wonderful camp grounds. Camp Cadicasu will offer them a place that is both safe and secure and where new adventures will allow the kids to learn about themselves, make new friends and discover the natural world!
- Parents are asked to drive their children to camp so that they can meet the assigned staff and help their camper get settled. Parents who pick up their child from camp will have the opportunity to learn about the experience from their camper’s counselor.
Intermediate, aged 11-12
- Whether these campers are coming for the first time, or returning for another summer, the Intermediate group will have plenty of fun and adventure waiting for them. Best of all, they will be sure to make many new friends and enjoy the outdoors for the week.
- A big highlight will be having the opportunity to go on exciting overnight hikes away from camp and to learn some of the skills needed to have fun and live safely in the great outdoors.
Seniors, aged 13-14
- Greater responsibility and opportunities will be given to the seniors whether they are returning or coming for the first time to Camp Cadicasu. Swimming, climbing, horseback riding, arts and crafts, hiking and overnight backpacking will all be on the menu of exciting activities. Add to this, a bunch of new friends, lots of laughs and some awesome adventures and you have got a camping experience full of memories which will last a lifetime!
- Seniors will experience a greater participation in the planning and preparation for their activities and learn how to be safe and comfortable in the wilderness while striving for minimum impact on the environment.
