JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Director is responsible for:
- Reports directly to the Camp Director
- For the design and implementation of the current year’s Counselor-in-training program
- For reading in it entirety, the Camp Cadicasu Counselor Manual
- For “buying into” the camp philosophy and program as stated in the manual
- For the interview and selection of the Counselor-in-training applicants
- For the accurate recording of all data on the CIT program participants and the assessment of each candidate as to the suitability for future Camp Cadicasu staff positions
- For informing the camp Director on a regular basis on the performance of each CIT program participant and any programs arising
- For the day to day programming and administration of the CIT program
- For the care giving of the CIT participants; to be their counselor
- For providing a positive, healthy, creative and productive role model image to CIT participants
- For creating a professional and yet friendly and supportive relationship with each CIT program participant
- For the discipline of the CIT program
- For ensuring that the program and participants are a positive aspect of the camp community
- For working with the other senior staff in ensuring that the camp is being operated in a productive and professional manner
- For ensuring that the camp is being operated in accordance with the Camp Cadicasu Counselor Manual and to the directives of the Camp Executive Director and Board of Directors
- For safeguarding the goodwill of the parents and community-at-large
- For safeguarding Camp Cadicasu Association of Calgary, the Board of Directors and fellow staff members against possible litigation resulting from negligent behavior on his/her part
