JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Outrip Director is responsible for:
- Reports directly to the Camp Director
- For being familiar and having “bought into” the camp philosophy and goals
- For having thoroughly read and agreed with the Camp Cadicasu Counselor Manual
- For the design and implementation of the current season’s outtripping program
- For purchasing, inventory, maintenance and disbursement of all outtripping equipment
- For seeing that each outtrip group has a first aid kit
- For the monitoring of all outtrips to assure they are being conducted ina the safe, responsible manner and in accordance with the rules set out by camp administration and Kananaskis Country
- For seeing that all outtrips are conducted in an environmentally responsible manner
- For assisting counselors in the planning and preparation of their week outtrip program
- For the outtrip food preparation, inventory and warehousing, as well as assisting the counselors in menu development and the actual packing of outtrip food
- For ensuring that all outtrips are a positive outdoor experience and that the counselors are aware of their responsibility in this regard
- For the quality of the outtrip program
- For the preparation and conducting of an outtrip training session in conjunction with the CIT Director to be given to the CIT participants
- For reporting to the Camp Executive Director on a regular basis the activities of all outtrips
- For seeing that in the case of an outtrip accident, that proper procedures are carried out and that an incident report is prepared and presented to the Camp Executive Director
- For being a support person to the other member of the camp senior staff
- For assisting outer camp personnel when time and duties allow
- For safeguarding the goodwill of the parents and the community-at-large
- For safeguarding the Camp Cadicasu Association of Calgary, Board of Directors and fellow staff members against litigation resulting from negligent behavior on his/her part
