JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Program Director is responsible for:
- Reports directly to the Camp Director
- For the design of all original camp programming and coordination of the implementation of same
- For ensuring that the camp program is being run in accordance with the camp philosophy and goals
- For the quality of life in camp and in conjunction with the Director, the overall discipline of staff and campers
- For being familiar with, and having “bought into” the camp philosophy and goals
- For having read and agreed to the Camp Cadicasu Counselor Manual
- For the program training of the counselors and assistant counselors
- For overseeing all aspects of the camp program
- For the monitoring and evaluation of the counselor-run programs
- For acting as a resource person and a catalyst for the counselors in regard to their program
- For purchasing and maintaining the inventory of program supplies and as well as the upkeep of the camp library
- For assisting in the planning and implementation of the pre-camp and ongoing staff training
- For safeguarding the goodwill of the parents and community at large
- For, in the absence of the camp Director, the overall operation of the camp, special events, especially in the area of staff morale and discipline is maintained
- For keeping the camp Director informed of all events which might impact staff relationships or the overall health of the camp
- For fostering goodwill and tolerance among all people at camp
- For safeguarding, to the best of his/her ability, the self worth and dignity of the all members of the camp community
- For, along with the camp Director, ensuring that the desires of the camp Board of Directors are carried out
- For safeguarding the camp, Board of Directors, fellow staff members against possible litigation resulting from negligent behavior on his/her part
