REVITALIZATION PLANS

Why is Camp Cadicasu moving? This is the most commonly asked question and one which we feel has disappointment, but also has tremendous opportunity for revitalizing the Camp after being in the Bragg Creek location for the past 77 years. The primary motivator was because of the need to rebuild the main building which housed the dining and kitchen facilities. The cost of re-building, and the phenomenal development taking place in the Bragg Creek community made it obvious that in order to maintain the outdoor experience to the fullest, a more remote location was in order. So with passion and determination, a plan was developed to re-build and revitalize Camp Cadicasu for the next 77 years!!
- We are building a 15,000 square foot camp with facilities that will include new dining hall, staff quarters and 2 new residences to house the campers
- We are expanding our appeal to reflect the changes necessary to be competitive in the camp market
- We are ensuring our environmental sustainability for the camp
- We are revitalizing our camper and staffing programs to be more consistent with the future needs and maintain the legacy of the past
- We are continuing to expand the diversity of our camper programs
- We are persistent in offering financial assistance through our Cadicasu Campership program ensuring 10% of our camper enrollment be partially or fully funded
- It is our goal to preserve the historical nature of the site of the Jumping Pound Ranger Station

It is important to note that the camp spirit, tone and programming will not change significantly from what Cadicasu has offered to their campers in the past. It is our intent to maintain the best of what we have been and look for new ways to improve the quality of the camp experience for the camper, counselor and staff. Remember it is the people, not the buildings or location that make Camp Cadicasu special!
